Gemma Arterton stars in the new ‘Black Narcissus’ teaser trailer.

Himalayan Nun drama Black Narcissus gets its first teaser trailer.

The show is an adaptation of the best-selling 1939 novel by Rumer Godden and is billed as a one night, three part event. The same novel was also adapted in 1947 into an Oscar-winning film, starring Deborah Kerr in the role of Sister Clodagh.

Set in the Himalayas in 1934, a remote clifftop palace once known as the ‘House of Women’ holds many dark secrets. When the young nuns of St. Faith attempt to establish a mission there, its haunting mysteries awaken forbidden desires that seem destined to repeat a terrible tragedy.

Directed by Charlotte Bruus Christensen, the limited series stars Gemma Arterton, Jim Broadbent, Aisling Franciosi and Diana Rigg.

Black Narcissus lands on FX and FX on Hulu on 23rd November, 2020, with a UK release on BBC One/iPlayer in December.
