Samuel Goldwyn Films have debuted the first trailer for upcoming drama, Waiting for the Barbarians.
Based on Nobel Prize winning author J.M Coetzee’s novel of the same name, the film revolves around the magistrate of an isolated frontier settlement on the border of an unnamed empire. Despite hoping for an easy retirement, the arrival of a Colonel, whose task it is to report on the activities of the ‘barbarians’ and on the security situation on the border, leads the magistrate to question his own loyalty to the empire.
Directed by Ciro Guerra, the film stars Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and Gana Bayarsaikhan.
Waiting for the Barbarians is set for a digital and VOD release on August 7th.
